I got into Reiki so I could to learn how to work with energy more intentionally (which I did). I figured helping others would be a bonus byproduct (which it is).

But a big surprise for me has been that an important part of being a Reiki practitioner means committing to a daily practice of self-treatments. I already have quite the extensive daily “energy routine” but this has upped my game.

And I think it’s important to note that for me a treatment doesn’t necessarily mean healing. I think constantly needing healing can be a bit of a trap – like you get stuck thinking there’s always something wrong with you needing to be fixed.

Reiki is indeed a powerful healer when required but I also like to see it as being a balancer of energy which is something we should all do on the daily yet most of us aren’t taught to. And yes, some might see healing being equivalent to balancing but I see them as different - I categorize energy awareness/hygiene/sovereignty as being a thing unto itself.

Regardless, the beauty of Reiki energy is that that it will meet you wherever you are and cater to your specific needs whether it’s a healing, a balancing, a combo of the two, or something else that is beyond any conscious intention or understanding.

If you feel called to Reiki trust that it’s for a reason and all you need to do is be open to receive.

So I am a Reiki Healer now. NBD ☺️

Here’s the backstory…

For a very long time I’ve known that I wanted to be a writer but a few years ago when I decided to follow that call the universe decided to throw a few curve balls into the mix.

First I was guided to start a podcast. Something I never thought I’d do but I did anyways because it felt like I was meant to.

And more recently I’ve been guided to learn Reiki. Again, not something I ever anticipated but it all unfolded so quickly and effortlessly that I can’t help believe that it was meant to be.

So now I am officially a writer, a podcaster, and a Reiki practitioner. Quite a diverse trifecta of titles I know but if you get down to the basics they are all similar in that they each are ways in which I get to share energy with the world.

The other day I even wondered if maybe I’m an energy worker first and foremost and I have been all along, even when I thought that I was “just” a writer. Maybe writing is simply a tool and energy is the name of my game.

I guess in the grand scheme of things labels are to be taken lightly anyways. And that all I can do is follow my heart and listen to my soul even if it doesn’t make complete sense. I choose to be the person who always takes a swing at those curve balls thrown from the universe.

This pic was taken about 2 hours west of the center of the universe. Like THE actual center of it.

I guess in the 80’s some Tibetan monks proclaimed an area in the middle of nowhere BC to be the center of the universe.

I didn’t get to visit the actual site. That will have to be for another time. But I did notice the energy even just a few hours out was pretty incredible. So peaceful and pristine✨
