Sound + Self-Care
I’ve incorporated sound into my self-care routine more and more over the years and I thought I’d share a bit about it.
First and foremost I see sound as a spa treatment. Like a massage but for all of your energy bodies reaching places not accessed by a massage of just your physical body. It penetrates deep into the cells of your body and out into your energetic field.
An almost daily part of my routine is that I give myself sound baths and use my crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes etc. I find it so relaxing but also grounding which is something I have to constantly work on.
I also love to use a tuning fork (and this might be considered frequency rather than sound but I often times lump them together). I like to give myself a facial and use my 528 hz tuning fork as I gather it is not only helpful with DNA repair but also great as a beauty treatment. I tried to take a pic of me using the fork on my face but all I did was feature my apparently spectacular double chin so I used the pic in this post instead where I make my fork look like those cyclops sunglasses from the 80’s. Because I love the 80’s.
I am very aware however that sound as a spa treatment is just scratching the surface of what it can do and I also see sound as a soul treatment and a profound way to connect with yourself. I find that playing my bowls and gong helps me to quiet my thoughts so I can access my intuition. In fact it’s the most effective way for me to meditate and help me get out of my mind and into my soul.
It’s easy to incorporate sound (and frequency) into your daily routine and to do it for yourself. If you have any questions about how to work with it hit me up with questions. I could talk about it all day long.
It’s also powerful to have someone facilitate a sound/frequency session for you because in this situation you can allow yourself to fully relax and receive. If this is something you’re interested in I am currently offering Group Sound Baths on Bowen Island and Vancouver. You can find these in my shop.
